Title
Book clasp
Description
English: A book clasp. The end of the clasp has two lobes which are joined on the inside edges by a bar to form a hole. Beyond the hole the lobes join and narrow before widening to form a plate that is sub rectangular in outline. The plate widens slightly and terminates in a square end. There are what may be two rivets in position at this end. The front face of the plate is decorated with a sub rectangular motif. The reverse is flat and plain, although there is what resembles an incised figure 4 but could simply be damage. Length 33.1mm, width 19.5mm, thickness 6.7mm, weight 13g.
