Description
Deutsch: Bohrfliege (Chaetorellia jaceae);

Bohrfliegen sind kleine bis große Fliegen mit Körperlängen von 1 - 20 mm; besitzen oft eine auffällige Körperzeichnung; haben meist eine schwarze oder braune Flügelmusterung; sind meist tagaktiv; haben Fühler aus drei Segmenten; haben als Weibchen einen sklerotisierten Legeapparat, der spitz ausgezogen ist; bevorzugen trockene warme Biotope; ernähren sich von süßen Säften oder von faulenden pflanzlichen Substanzen; umfassen auch Arten, die in der Landwirtschaft Schäden bewirken; umfassen weltweit etwa 4300 Arten; umfassen in Mitteleuropa etwa 290 Arten.
