English: Bog Oak at Wicken Fen 'Bog Oaks' are the remains of trees that have been preserved in waterlogged peat. Not necessarily oaks, they could be one of many tree species from the forest that grew here over 4,200 years ago. This Bog Oak was dug from Adventurers' Fen in 1991.--From the information sign. |
