Summary

[edit]
Description
Uiteindelik sou meer as 4 000 krygsgevangenes in Bermuda aangehou word.
English: Boer prisoners of war in Bermuda displaying various handcraft which they manufactured to pass the time. The photo is displayed at Schanskop fort, Pretoria. Commenting on similar handcraft by boer prisoners of war in Ceylon, it was noted that they devised planes out of table-knives, saws out of barrel-hoops and, and with the aid of these and other improvised implements, turned out souvenirs and multitudinous articles of utility, most of them from waste material.[1]
