| Description | ‘Een boek dat jaloers maakt, geruststelt en relativeert’, aldus minister-president Rutte over het boek Polarisatie en hoogconjunctuur. ‘Die jaloezie heeft natuurlijk te maken met de economische cijfers uit die jaren. Ik kon het bijna niet geloven toen ik het las: 5.8 procent groei gemiddeld over vier jaar’. Rutte vervolgt: ‘Wat mij in dit boek geruststelt is de gedachte dat het zelfs in politiek-hectische tijden mogelijk blijkt als kabinet een stabiele koers te varen’. En tot slot: ‘En wat ik relativerend vind is het besef dat waardering vaak achteraf komt. Waarmee ik niet wil zeggen dat ik voor het huidige kabinet hetzelfde verwacht, maar hoop doet wel leven natuurlijk’. Premier Rutte heeft vanmiddag op het Catshuis het eerste exemplaar van dit boek over het kabinet De Jong uitgereikt aan oud-premier De Jong. |
