English: Bodice, woman's, deep red velvet, square neckline with gathered black lace trim and black satin ribbons tied over décolletage, centre front opening with fifteen small (brass) buttons stained red with shield and rope border moulded decoration, elbow length sleeves gathered slightly into shoulder seam, black lace attached to cuff of velvet giving the appearance of a long sleeved blouse worn underneath, lace is flounced at wrist with black satin ribbon tie, wide deep red satin ribbon trim to neckline and sleeves with bows to shoulder and elbow, four metal stays built into front and seven to back, panels flare out at lower back with centre vent to accommodate a skirt, cotton lining with green and red pinstripe, black grosgrain ribbon belt with metal buckle sewn to interior waist
