Description

This is a good example of lens compression. At least I think it is? This shot taken at 300mm was taken from roughly the middle of the Sunshine Skyway Fishing Pier - the old bridge that was destroyed by a freighter during a storm in 1980. Notice how the cables on the suspension bridge appear to be in a very tight area - very close to each other front to back. Also, notice how scary steep the bridge appears. Oddest of all is the apparent direction the cars are pointing. Zoom in on the cars and notice how they all appear to be steering off the road, more so for the ones in the foreground.

Compare that to this 70mm image taken more toward the end of the pier/old bridge and closer to the center of the new bridge: www.flickr.com/gp/181920661@N03/02D8nbdNFH
