Deutsch: Protestantische Hinterglasbilder sind eine Besonderheit, an vielen anderen Orten, wurde die Technik der Hinterglasmalerei für Heiligenmotive oder Landschaften eingesetzt. In Kaufbeuren entstanden Hinterglasbilder mit ausdrücklich protestantischen Motiven, beispielsweise die Darstellung von protestantischen Reformatoren oder Herrschern oder wichtigen Ereignissen wie die Übergabe der „Confessio Augustana“. English: Protestant reverse glass paintings are a speciality. In many other places, the technique of painting behind glass was used for motifs of saints or landscapes. The Kaufbeuren reverse glass paintings were created with explicitly Protestant motifs, for example the depiction of Protestant reformers or rulers or important events such as the presentation of the “Confessio Augustana”. |
