Summary
[edit]DescriptionBleach Halibel Cosplay at Otakon 2015.jpg |
English: One of the plethora of "Bleach" characters, Halibel. This is a mix between her normal and "release" (ultimate) forms.
I was aiming for a dominant yet sexy pose - with respect to the cosplayer (and not treating her as just a piece of meat) - and asked the cosplayer's permission to take an upwards angle shot. And I probably did not phrase my request as clearly as I could have. She was cool with it as long as I wasn't just focusing on her "underboobs.' Tempting but no. I like cosplay for the "oh-wow-that's-cool" factor not just some skin being shown. If the two coincide, that's just a happy bonus to me. I did finally find out who the cosplayer was. I've shown her my photos and she liked the final images. Perhaps we could work together again down the road. Comments? Cosplayer: Gia Sanrio UPDATE: Gia's Halibel "underboob" pic was used in a German article describing a new clothing ordinance (no highly revealing clothing) in Springfield, Missouri. While it's both disturbing in terms of censorship and amusing that some people feel that they need to police women's wardrobe choices (men can be affected, too, if they wear hot pants, mesh tank tops, or other provocative clothing), I also find it humorous because of Missouri's nick-name, "The 'Show Me State.' " For my non-American followers, this dates back to when Missouri was a territory in the early 1800s and that the folks in that area were infamous for not believing anything you told them unless you could show it to them as well. So an ordinance asking women to not show something - in this case, their bodies - is ironically funny. |
