The blason is dated after 1575 (Monferrato) and joins the coats of arms of the families Gonzague and Clèves. Français : la famille Gonzague souverains de Mantoue en Italie. En 1565, Louis IV de Nevers, frère de Frédéric II de Mantoue et de Guillaume de Mantoue épouse Henriette de Clèves en France. Le blason est postérieur à 1575 (Montferrat) et réunit les armoiries des familles de Gonzague et de Clèves. Italiano: famiglia Gonzaga, signori da Mantova, Italia. In 1565, Ludovico Gonzaga-Nevers, fratello di Francesco III Gonzaga e di Guglielmo Gonzaga sposa Henriette de Clèves in Francia.
