Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus

Afrikaans: Die Blounekooievaar (Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus) is een van Sri Lanka se mees bedreigde voëlspesies en word plaaslik slegs in Koemana Nasionale Park en die Boendala-reservaat aangetref. Hulle staan die hoogste van die eiland se inheemse voëls. Blounekooievaars leef oorwegend by strandmere of by soutwaterpanne in kusgebiede.
English: The Black-necked stork (Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus) is one of the most endangered bird species in Sri Lanka, where they are only present in Kumana National Park and Bundala Sanctuary. They are the tallest of the island's birds. Black-necked storks usually live in estuaries or at salt water lakes in coastal areas.
