Description Black Partridge (Francolinus francolinus) is the State Bird of the Indian State of Haryana. It is a member of the Pheasant family and is, like a typical member of the Phasianidae pretty colourful with black and brown plumage with some white also. The a resident of Northen India. The interesting three syllable call, heard during mornings and evenings is interpreted differently by different people. Some say the call means "Subhan teri Kudrat" other say it mens "Paan beedi cigarette"
