English: A quaint hill station on the Satpura Hills of the Vindhya Range, Pachmarhi is a picturesque holiday destination famous for its cave paintings and numerous waterfalls. The beauty of the place coupled with a significant number of monuments and museums in Pachmarhi make it an interesting tourist destination. The Bison Lodge and Museum Pachmarhi is one of the landmark tourist attractions of the places.

History of Bison Lodge and Museum Pachmarhi

The Bison Lodge and Museum Pachmarhi in India is associated with Captain Forsyth. Capt. Forsyth is the person who is credited with the discovery of Pachmarhi as a hill station. He came across the place while leading the Bengal Lancers in 1857. The Bison Lodge was built in 1862 as his residence and is now a museum.
