Biserica a fost finalizată în 1894 și este o reconstrucție a bisericii ortodoxe sârbești care a ars în 1893. Biserica a fost renovată în 1948 de către meşterul timișorean Radivoi Matici[1].

În 2003 și 2004 au fost executate reparații exterioare, iar în 2006 a început reparația capitală a interiorului[2].

Biserica ortodoxă sârbă face parte din "Ansamblu urban al orașului Pecica"[3] cod LMI AR–II-a-B-00641[4].
