Summary
[edit]DescriptionBirefringence of stress areas on a DVD jewel case.jpg |
English: Based on principle of polarization and birefringent optical property, the distribution of residual stress of transparent plastics, in the form of fringed pattern, can be seen on this plastic DVD jewel case. The DVD case was illuminated with a polarized light source (from a LCD screen) and photographed through a polarizer filter.
