Dr.Kalbfus, the late Secretary of the Game Com-mission of Pennsylvania, one morning, in lessthan an hour counted twenty-two species ofbirds feeding on a mulberry tree. Fellow members of the Audubon Society,let us plant bird treesâmillions of trees,dedicating at least half the fruit to the birds.Let us interest our children in planting birdtrees as well as erecting bird-housesâthis isthe foundation of conservation. Let us askour various state forestry departments toraise seedling Russian mulberries in theirmany nurseries and send them to our schoolsby parcel post. Let us work in a sustained driveto save the lives of our birds. A tree for alife! Thats what it means! Then let us planttrees for our feathered friends, that they maybe saved for future generations.
