Bevor Kürbi & Niggeloh („BILORA“) die berühmte Bella herausbrachte, hatte sich die Firma schon einen recht guten Ruf als Hersteller der „Stahlbox“ erworben. In der Nachkriegszeit wurde sie - optisch leicht aufgebessert - noch ein paar Jahre weiterproduziert. Das erste neue Box-Modell (für 6x9) nach dem Krieg war aber die „Color-Box“, deren Produktion 1949 begann. Das Herausragende an ihr war das Objektiv, ein Achromat (Zweilinser) von Rodenstock (hier einer von Agfa), der als besonders geeignet für Farbaufnahmen angepriesen wurde. Den erhofften Erfolg hatte die Kamera nicht, vielleicht weil sie einfach für eine Box zu teuer war: 22,- DM. Die Produktion lief 1953 aus. Technisch war sie recht gut ausgestattet: Außer dem Achromaten hatte sie Drahtauslöser- und Blitzanschluß, Abblendmöglichkeit auf 12,5 und 16 (Lamellen, keine Lochblende!) und zwei Zeiten: „Z“ und „M“. |
