Summary
[edit]DescriptionBeyond the Pale - geograph.org.uk - 384760.jpg |
English: Beyond the Pale this wall marks the boundary of Lulworth mediaeval deer park, and along with its nearby gatehouses is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. This photograph was taken from beyond the pale, which is where all manner of peasants and dodgy people could be found. Nowadays of course such people can be inside the pale too, as there are many permitted paths through the estate. The wall is made from heath stone. Elsewhere in the park, the wall was raised by adding a brick wall on top. This appears not to have been done here. |
