Summary
[edit]DescriptionBeung Fai Phraya Nag (186) ball.JPG |
English: The Beung Fai Phya Nag -- the Naga's Fireballs - are an annual phenomenon always occurring at the end of the Buddhist Rains Retreat (Buddhist Lent, or Ork Pan Sa in Thai).
The fireballs, a rosy pink colour, emerge from the Mekong River in and around Nong Khai/Vientiane and shoot a couple of hundred feet into the air before disappearing. So far, no plausible scientific explanation has been put forward for this phenomenon. Many Thais believe they are hurled into the air by the Phaya Nark, a mythical giant snake that lives in the Mekong. Photos shot with Canon 1000D, with 10mm lens set at f4, exposure 30 seconds.ไทย: บึงไฟไพญานาค |
