Notes The composition derives from such Beuckelaer paintings as Vegetable Seller in the Musée des Beaux-Arts, Valenciennes (inv. P.65.5.1., ill. in the catalogue of the Beuckelaer exhibition, Gent 1987, cat. no. 2). As far as the type of the girl's face and the brushwork are concerned it is also close to paintings by the monogramist HB, identified as Huybrecht Beuckelaer, a brother (?) of Joachim.
