Berwick's hidden railway

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Berwick's hidden railway One of the large granaries at Berwick-upon-Tweed had a narrow-gauge railway, passing through the town walls, that connected it to the quay east of Berwick Old Bridge. The hole in the walls is closed by a metal-studded wooden door but the fastening padlock and chain have worn away just sufficient of the surrounding stone that a camera can be poked through (though direction of view and operation have to be by guesswork). Remains of the railway track can just be made out on the floor.
