DescriptionBerlin - Siegessäule.jpg | The Victory Column was designed in 1864 to commemorate Prussia's victory in the war against Denmark. By the time the monument was completed, Prussia had won wars against Austria (1866) and France (1870-1871), and Germany was unified. The Siegessäule is at the Strasse des 17. Juni, leading to the Brandenburg Gate. The street was named after the unsuccessful uprising in East Germany on June 17, 1953. | ||
