Deutsch: "Haus der Schweiz", Unter den Linden 24, in Berlin-Mitte, errichtet 1934-1936 vom Architekten Ernst Meier-Appenzell. Es handelt sich um das einzige historische Eckgebäude an der Kreuzung Friedrichstraße/Unter den Linden, der erhalten geblieben ist. Der nüchterne Geschäftsbau zeigt als einzigen Fassadenschmuck eine Wilhelm Tell-Figur sowie den großen Schriftzug "Haus der Schweiz". Da Gebäude ist denkmalgeschützt.
English: "Haus der Schweiz" ("House of Switzerland"), Unter den Linden 24, in Berlin-Mitte, built 1934-1936 by architect Ernst Meier-Appenzell. This is the only preserved historical building at the corner of Unter den Linden and Friedrichstraße. This prosaic commercial building has only a modest facade decoration which consists of a statue of William Tell and the lettering "Haus der Schweiz". The building is landmarked. |
