Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Gerhardhaus at Neue Grünstraße No. 27 in Berlin-Mitte. This town house was built around 1790 for the mineralogist Carl Abraham Gerhard and belongs to the oldest preserved residences in Berlin-Mitte. A plaque honors the original owner. The main facade with eleven axes is structured symmetrically, showing a central risalit and two corner risalits as well as modest ornaments (rosettes and medallions), specifically on the principal floor. The building was damaged in WWII and renovated in 1980. The exterior side walls of the building, which originally adjoined neighboring structures, were reformulated in the style of the main facade. The building is now seat of several companies, e.g. the Berlin Historic Perservation GmbH. It has been dedicated as a historic landmark.
