Description
Deutsch: Australische Botschaft in Berlin, hier der Trakt am Märkischen Ufer, der Dienstwohnungen enthält. Er entstand 1912 als rückseitiger Teil des Geschäftshauses Wallstraße 76-79 nach einem Entwurf des Architekten Fritz Crzellitzer. Im Gegensatz zur aufwändig gestalteten Majolika-Fassade des Vorderhauses hat der Gebäudeteil am Märkischen Ufer eine einfache Putzfassade über einem natursteinverkleideten Sockelgeschoss. Der Gebäudekomplex ist als Baudenkmal ausgewiesen.
English: The Australian Embassy in Berlin, hier the wing on Märkisches Ufer, where apartments are located. It was built in 1912 to a design by the architect Fritz Crzellitzer as rear part of a commercial building at Wallstraße No. 76-79. Compared to the lavish majolica facade of the front building, the wing on Märkisches Ufer has a simple design with a plastered facade above a dressed stone base. The building complex has been designated as a historic landmark.
