Transcript InfoField | Wargrave Church is picturesquely situated near to the River Thames amid scenery which has delighted many an artist. It is dedicated to St. Mary, and is of mixed Norman and later styles of Architecture, the north doorway being generally ascribed to Saxon origin. The interior contains memorials to members of the Ximenes family, and also to Thomas Day, the the author of " Sandford and Merton. " Roman coins have been found in the vicinity. |
