English: "Mr. Bergh to the Rescue" (1871), by Thomas Nast. From Harper's Weekly, August 19, 1871. Depicts a crying Gorilla who complains that Charles Darwin has claimed to be his descendant, causing Henry Bergh, founder of the ASPCA, to accuse Darwin of animal cruelty.
