Cavenee Label Copy: "This book page, page thirty-one of volume two of this edition, depicts a courtesan from the Yoshiwara pleasure district. The haiku verse is apparently by the courtesan Hanagishi herself, and loosely translates: Someone returns in the depth of the night: a cuckoo. Set against a warm gray background, with her obi loosely tied in front, this figure is typical of Harunobus lyrical style and subtle use of color."
