The 'aura' is always grim below the Minhocão, no matter how sunny is the day or what's happening nearby. About the 'Minhocão': There's a 3.5km (2.2mi) elevated highway right at the heart of Sao Paulo. We call it 'Minhocão', Portuguese for Big Worm. The Minhocão was constructed in one of the most vibrant parts of the city back then, and as expected, everything went downhill after its completion, and today, anything remotely near to any stretch of the Minhocão is problematic as hell, especially after dark. Every year some legislator submit some project to explode the Elevated or to turn it in something like the NYC's High Line, but you know. Legislators... |
