Indeed, the namewas changed from Quarterly to Magazine in 1941 as morerepresentative of its broadening interests. The motto Mr. Thayer bestowed upon us thirty years ago hasdone good service. We have recorded and described Bell Systemprogress of many kinds, and that in itself has made the publica-tion a medium which suggests how forward-looking is the organi-zation, how manifold are Its contributions to the life of our na-tion, and how Important Is the work of every one of us.
