Description
Nederlands: De volgende informatie staat op een plaquette naast het beeld. VROUWE JUSTITIA. Het door Anne Woudwijk gemaakte monument, toont ons het beeld van vrouwe justitia met blinddoek, weegschaal en zwaard. Het bevind zich op het voormalig grondgebied van groot Haersma stata. "De iepenloftspullen" Livius en Hector van Haersma vormden de aanleiding tot het ontwerpen en vervaardigen van dit als aandenken bedoelde monument. Vanaf 1625 to 1832 heeft de familie van Haersma te Oudega, de toenmalige hoofdplaats van Smallingerland, het grietmanschap uitgeoefend. De familie woonde oorspronkelijk op klein Haersma-state aan de Sanbuorren. Aan de huidige dwarssingel lieten ze in 1660 groot Haersma-state bouwen. Deze residentie is in 1839 weer afgebroken.
