Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The official moniker is Devil's Tower National Monument. The native name was the bear's tepee, hence the title of the photograph. This is the view from the eastern base where a tepee-like shape emerges. Mato Tipila is the Lakota name, meaning Bear's Lodge. Tipila is where English derived the word tepee.
