| Description |
English: Bath Abbey, west elevation. This is a view up the impressive west front of the Abbey. The design was inspired by a dream had by the Bishop of Bath and Wells in the late 1490s of angels ascending and descending ladders. Construction of the abbey began in 1499. This view 717362 shows the ladders either side of the main entrance and these show details of the angels 717346 and 717347 |
