Description
Français : La basilique Saint-François à Assise, en Ombrie (Italie), est un édifice religieux où se superposent deux espaces d'assemblée: l'un est dit « église inférieure », bâtie dans la roche d'un flanc (Collis Inferni) du mont Subiaso entre 1228 et 1230, et l'autre dit « église supérieure », construite au-dessus (Colle del Paradiso) entre 1230 et 1253, dans le style gothique. Le campanile est de style roman.
English: The Papal Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi (Italian: Basilica Papale di San Francesco, Latin: Basilica Sancti Francisci Assisiensis) is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor—commonly known as the Franciscan Order—in Assisi, Italy, the city where St. Francis was born and died. The basilica is one of the most important places of Christian pilgrimage in Italy.
