| Description |
English: Mural above the entrance to the former location of the treasury of the Basilica of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, displaying the coat of arms of the treasury, based on that of the former chapter of Saint Servatius in Maastricht, the difference being that the double-headed eagle has been replaced by a single-headed Reichsadler. In the centre the Key of Saint-Servatius. The coat of arms is surrounded by a wreath bearing the motto Hunne gedachte zij gezegend, en hun gebeente spruite op uit zijne plaats ("Blessed be their memory, and may their bones grow forth from His place"). The text to the left and right of the lintel reads Schatkamer geopend 22 Mei. It. Jr. O.H.J.C. MDCCCXCV ("Treasury opened 22 May in the year of Our Lord Jesus Christ 1895"). In 1982 the treasury moved to a different location within the church complex. |
