| Description |
Español: Profesionales de distintas disciplinas llevan adelante proyectos científicos para analizar la flora y la fauna y realizar mediciones meteorológicas en la base antártica Orcadas, en el marco de la Campaña Antártica de Verano (CAV) 2017-2018, organizada por el Ministerio de Defensa.
Esa base, que es la mas antigua del continente antártico, funciona de manera permanente y cuenta con un Laboratorio Antártico Multidisciplinario (LABORC) que concentra todas las actividades científicas, entre ellas investigaciones sobre glaciología continental y marina, sismología y observaciones meteorológicas, estas últimas de manera continua desde 1903. Durante esta CAV fueron trasladados a bordo del rompehielos Almirante Irízar dos profesionales del Observatorio de Oceanografía y Geofísica Experimental (OGS) de Trieste (Italia) que desembarcaron en Orcadas para el desarrollo del proyecto “Red Sismológica Antártica”. |
