Description
English: What a children’s paradise this looks like with the corrugated iron canoes paddled by hand, the diving board just above the waterline of the Barron River, and wilderness on the far riverbank.

Analysis of Barron River flow at Kuranda and Mareeba, and Flaggy Creek Reservoir, part of the Barron River hydroelectric extension, was recorded from 1915-1955 and computation files along with a variety of government records relating to the Barron River project are in the collection at Queensland State Archives. The hydroelectric project realized and then extended, provides renewable electricity supply to the surrounding region in North Queensland.
