Description
Français : Barque napolitaine, vue par l’arrière, au mouillage. « Les Napolitains ont une quantité infinie de barques de toutes les formes, et dont la mâture et le gréement, aussi bizarres que pittoresques, seraient trop longues à décrire. Celle qui est représentée dans cette planche est assez singulière. Les patrons de ces barques sont fort peu instruits, naviguent sans boussole, et ne perdent jamais la terre de vue » (Jean-Jérôme Baugean). Gravure publiée en 1826 dans la Collection de toutes les espèces de bâtiments de guerre et de bâtiments marchands qui naviguent sur l'Océan et dans la Méditerranée, dessinée d'après nature et gravée par Baugean, mais réalisée avant 1819 (date de la mort de l'auteur).
