Description

NPS / Hannah Schwalbe

Nova the Frenchie takes a break along the Oasis of Mara Trail. This trail is the only one that pets are allowed to visit and they must stay on leash. Pets can also walk on dirt roads and around campgrounds if on leash! It may be best to keep your pet at home. The desert days can be very hot and dogs do not have the same ability to sweat and keep cool like humans do. Leaving a dog in the car while you hike can be dangerous anytime of the year in the desert as cars can act like ovens and get much hotter than the outside air temperature. Please keep your dog and the park wildlife safe by following the rules and some common sense. Thanks Nova for being such a good bark ranger!
