Title
Bar mount
Description
English: A complete cast, copper alloy bar mount dating to the Medieval period (AD c.1350 - AD c.1450).

Description: The mount has two terminal lobes flanking a convex central boss. It has a semi-circular cross-section with four beaded ridges formed by grooving on the central lobe. It has two rivet holes, each with the remains of copper-alloy rivets. The central boss is decorated with parallel incised lines. A small iron rivet remains as a stub of iron corrosion in one of the rivet holes.

Measurements: 23.67mm long, 10.74mm wide, 4.92mm thick and 2.01g in weight.

Discussion: Relatively common find on the PAS database and similar in design to those illustrated by Brian Read (2001, 23, nos.151) and Egan & Pritchard (1991, 214, fig.134, nos. 1160 ,1161).
