Summary
[edit]DescriptionBanjo Groyne and Volks Railway Shed - geograph.org.uk - 298474.jpg |
English: Banjo Groyne and Volks Railway Shed Volks Railway shed is the storage for all the railway vehicles and can be seen from the ground here 41932. Originally this was the terminus for the railway where customers could alight from the train and join another stranger one called the Daddy Longlegs that ran on stilts in the sea from Banjo Groyne to Rottingdean, click http://www.urban75.org/railway/brighton-sea-railway.html for pictures and history of this underwater railway line. At low tide the route of the railway as well as the concrete blocks used as sleepers can still be seen. |
