Description
Português: Bandeira do Distrito Federal (Brasil) (1891–1960)

Pelo Decreto nº 1.190 de 8 de junho de 1908, foi criada, oficialmente, a bandeira do Distrito Federal, segundo a transcrição abaixo:


"O Prefeito do Districto Federal, Faço saber que o Conselho Municipal decretou e eu sanciono a seguinte Resolução:

Art 1º Fica adoptada para tôdo o Districto Federal uma bandeira com as seguintes características:
-duas fachas azues em sentido diagonal, sobre o campo branco, tendo as armas municpaes, adoptadas pelo Decreto n.312, de 1 de agôsto de 1896, em côr encarnada.
Art. 2º A bandeira acima referida, symbolo do Districto Federal, servirá para representá-lo onde se fizer mister.
Art. 3º Revogam-se as disposições em contrário.
Districto Federal, 8 de junho de 1908”


Já as armas são descritas pelo Decreto legislativo n. 312 de 1º de Agosto de 1896:


"Art. 4º As armas municipais constam do antigo emblema, esphera e settas, accrescentadas do barreto phrygio, repousando sobre uma vela de navio, cuja prôa formará a base do emblema. Dos lados da quilha haverá dous golphinhos, circundando o emblema, dous ramos de louro, e circundando-o, a corôa symbolica de cidade marítima"
