Description
English: Aruba Gold Concessions Ltd. was founded in 1899. In 1903 the Balashi Gold Smelter was completed. Supplies of ore came from Miralamar (Arikok National Park) and other locations through the Frenchman's Pass by steam wagon or locomobile. A number of dwellings in the area are connected to this Gold Smelter. In 1908 the company was taken over by a group of local investors but the company was only profitable until 1915. The ruins is located in the Frenchman's Pass.
