[edit]DescriptionBahin Rajbari in Uttar Dinajpur district 09.jpg |
English: The Bahin Zamindar Bari is situated at Bahin, a village in Raiganj block in Uttar Dinajpur district. It is located 1 km towards the south from the district headquarter Raiganj. It is one of the significant historical places in the North Dinajpur district. The place is near the border of Bihar.
The house is on the banks of Nagar river of Raiganj. Bahin Zamindar Ishwar Chandra Chowdhury built the house. The Zamindar house is built of bricks. There are large rooms and a verandah in the house. In 2011, the West Bengal Heritage Commission declared the house as a heritage building. However, no conservation has been done till date. A police picket is present in the premises. Despite being declared a heritage building, ground floor has been modified crudely to create living quarter of the policemen. Though the exploration was mainly on Dakshin Dinajpur some parts of Uttar Dinajpur was covered too.
