Ningún viaje al norte de Vietnam puede ser considerado completo sin una visita a la región de la bahía de Halong. Esta región en realidad incluye 3 bahías: Bai Tu Long, Lan Ha y por último pero no menos importante, la bahía de Halong. Halong Bay es la más conocida por los turistas que vienen de todo el mundo. Sin embargo, Lan Ha Bay y Bai Tu Long Bay tienen la misma belleza escénica que Bahía de Halong, o más. No muchos visitantes extranjeros son conscientes de que las formaciones rocosas e islas van más allá del "Ha Long Bay Park". Desde un punto administrativo representan tres parques separados, cada uno con sus propias tarifas turísticas, pero desde un punto de vista geológico y geográfico, son tratadas como un todo. Menos turística que su hermana mayor (Halong) pero no menos increíble, Lan Ha Bay es una hermosa bahía llena de islas y rocas, donde se pueden apreciar pueblos flotantes de pescadores y cultivadores de mariscos. Situada al sur y al este de la ciudad de Cat Ba, las 300 o más islas kársticas y de piedra caliza de Lan Ha son tan hermosas como las de la bahía de Halong y tienen la atracción adicional de numerosas playas de arena blanca. Geológicamente, Lan Ha es una extensión de la Bahía de Halong, pero se encuentra en una provincia diferente. Alrededor de 200 especies de peces, 500 especies de moluscos, 400 especies de artrópodos, y numerosos corales duros y blandos viven en sus aguas, mientras que los animales marinos más grandes de la zona incluyen focas y tres especies de delfines. |
