Summary
[edit]DescriptionBagpiper 06WDBY 011.jpg | A young bagpipe player plays during the individual piping competition at the 2006 Whidbey Island Highland Games. This particular individual, as can be seen from her outfit, is also a Highland dancer. Such dual competitors are a relative rarity in modern times, but in the early days of the Highland revival in the early 19th century, dual piper/dancer competitors were the norm. The fact that the bagpiper is a girl is also another rarity. |
