Title
BUTTON
Description
English:

Post Medieval to Modern copper alloy two piece button, probably a livery button. It is flat and circular in plan with a soldered shank on the back. The outer face is decorated with an ornate gilded capital 'P' originally surrounded by gilt circumferal border. The back has a now bent over central loop for thread. There is some damage to the edge of the button but it is complete. The button has a remnant brown coating, probably some form of paint. It probably dates to between c1710 and c1960 AD.

The diameter 26mm, thickness 3mm, and the weight 3.93g.
