Deutsch: Braunschweig: Aus dem Kanaldeckel eines Schmutzwasserkanals strömt Rauch. Bei einer Trennkanalisation, wie sie hier vorliegt, bläst man Rauch in den Schmutzwasserkanal, um festzustellen, ob Regenrinnen an den Schmutzwasserkanal anstatt an den Regenwasserkanal angeschlossen sind. Wäre dies der Fall, würde Rauch aus den betreffenden Regenrinnen steigen.
English: Brunswick, Germany: Smoke exits from the drain cover of a dirty water sewer. With separate sewage systems, like the one shown here, smoke is blown into the dirty water channel to determine whether gutters are connected to the dirty water channel rather than the rainwater canalisation. If this were the case, smoke would come out of the rainwater downpipes in question. |
