An incomplete copper alloy,Roman Colchester deriavative brooch dating to the period c. AD 43 - 100. The brooch is missing the pin, catchplate and lower bow, but is otherwise intact. It has an overall length of 22.16mm, a maximum width of 25.01mm (across the wings), a thickness of 5.73mm at the wings, a maximum thickness of 8.46mm at the bow and a weight of 8.81g.

The wings are semi circular, cylindrical forming a D shaped cross section with no decoration. The bow tapers down from the head with a slight hump, extending from the front of the wings and contains no decoration. The bow has a maximum length of 14.12mm and a maximum width of 5.37mm.
