English: THIS CHURCH WAS THE FIRST CHURCH IN THE AREA SITUATED ON LAND PURCHASED FROM JOHN BLACKWOOD. INITIALLY A LOG CHURCH WAS ERECTED IN 1751 BUT IN 1848 A MORE SUBSTANTIAL CHURCH WAS ERECTED DIRECTLY BEHIND THE PRESENT STRUCTURE BUT IN 1856 THE PRESENT CHURCH WAS BUILT INCORPORATING ELEMENTS OF THE 1848 EDIFICE. |
